The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming is a 1966 American comedy film directed and produced by Norman Jewison for the Mirisch Company. It is based on the 1961 Nathaniel Benchley novel The Off-Islanders, and was adapted for the screen by William Rose. Not your uncle's Gram Parsons -- this ISB quickie is much more closely aligned with the garage rock of its day than with the country fusion that the singer would go on to make. While I think this pressing may have been made from cruddy old masters I don't know for sure if the originals are any better; you'll have to see that for yourself. Anyway, all four tracks are a lot of fun. I really recommend them.
