Info

Polars is the debut studio album from Dutch metal band, Textures. It was produced, mixed, recorded, and mastered entirely by the band themselves, and was issued on Listenable Records in 2003. The label re-issued the album in 2004 with slightly different cover art adding images of machinery and gears and in some cases, a different casing. The album contained eight songs, the final two being the two longest songs of the album. The sixth and eighth songs are wholly ambient with assorted sound effects. Filed under Progressive Metal By TEXTURES. Dutch sextet Textures seem bent on justifying their name with the challenging and complex music heard on their 2004 debut album Polars. Something akin to Meshuggah jamming with the Dillinger Escape Plan by way of Enya, the band's sonic concoctions run the gamut of musical hardsoft and emotional brutal aggressionpeaceful relaxation possibilities. It's quite an undertaking, to be sure, and leadoff single Ostensibly Impregnable offers as good an entry point as any to the strange world of Textures. Review by UMUR SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator. The album was released through Listenable Records in 2003. The music on Polars features elements from both the melodic Swedish Gthenburg deaththrash metal style especially Soilwork comes to mind and the more technicalexperimental hybrid extreme metal style played by acts like Meshuggah, Gojira and Strapping Young Lad. The music features both melodic deaththrash metal riffing and more technical chugging riffs. TEXTURES - Polars debut album rerelease. Vutaur
Low volume pressing: It gets super noisy between tracks or during low volume music. Sad.
