Norma Jean - O' God The Aftermath review: Mindblowingly intense, more refined than Scogin's official entry into the world of mathcore and beyond anything that God or Satan could hope to achieve in 2000 years. An essential modern day mathematical metal classic. However, in a manner of speaking, O' God the Aftermath was undoubtedly their most technically proficient album inevitably the angriest too. Right from the opener Murdererotica, the listener is barraged with insane tempos, time signatures and terrifying biblical quotation. Whilst I preferred Scogin as a vocalist, he was a little too hoarse and repetitive. album: O' God The Aftermath 2005. Murderotica: An Avalanche In D Minor 2. With our lives, with our heart, and with our hands out to this God forsaken town. Hell will have no mercy. They rest on the coast and the tide is impending. We pull at the motionless and static, But the torrent has crowned their heads. It fills their ears and it makes them ill. They do not stuggle at all. O God The Aftermath is probably my favorite Norma Jean record and I think its an album where they really found their sound. Listening to the album all the way through will probably bore most listeners, but this album is still a worthy addition to your music collection even if you just throw a song from this album on every once in a while. Fans of dissonant Hardcore, Mathcore and raw Metalcore will love this album and will most likely learn to respect the ideas that Norma Jean had going. All the songs sound pretty much the same so its kind of hard to choose a best song off the record, but fo. Norma Jean's lineup shifted again between Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child and 2005's O God, The Aftermath - the Georgia metalcore unit got a new bassist in Jake Schultz, and replaced vocalist Josh Scrogin with former Eso Charis shouter Cory Brandan. Still, there's no rage or passion lost. Brandan is comparably distraught on the microphone, and he matches wits ably with the pummel of Norma Jean's twin guitars. This world is damned to hell and it's a revelation, he spits over the manic, jagged rhythms of 'Coffinspire. I'll set.
