In Concert is a live double album by American jazz musician Miles Davis. It was recorded in 1972 at the Philharmonic Hall in New York City. In a contemporary review of the album, Robert Palmer of Rolling Stone noted the marginalization of saxophonist Carlos Garnett but lauded the recording as bracing, popping, at least. Album 1969 7 Songs. On If I Were a Bell, the tenor players style includes some overblown textures while he pushes the band into avant-garde realms drummer Tony Williams sounds ready to join Rivers, but the trumpeter is more restrained. Does anyone here know if Miles Davis ate some noodles, when he was there, and if he thought they were as tasty as people say. Miles Davis-Walkin' Tokyo Live 1964 HD 9:20. If I Were a Bell Live 10:16. Miles Davis was on the verge of forming one of his most acclaimed ensembles in 1964. It was this year that he travelled to perform in Japan for the first time, bringing with him 34ths of the musicians that would form his famed second great quartet Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on double bass, and Tony Williams on drums. The partnership of Miles Davis and Sam Rivers may have been short-lived, but it did produce the live album Miles In Tokyo. The record is a rare jewel in Miles Davis' discography, featuring high-energy live versions of songs by Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, and Richard Carpenter, as well as a restlessly fast-paced take on the Davis staple So What.
