Your Rating. Unsurprisingly repetitive given the title, Why Can't It Stop has an insistent piano-and-vocal sample and a heavy bassline. Track Listing. It's awesome, of course, but you would've been more likely to hear it at an actual club than its bugged-out B-side. Rispondi Avvertimi 3 Helpful. Nothing Can Stop Us is a compilation album by Robert Wyatt released in 1982. Consisting primarily of tracks released as singles and B-sides during the late 1970s and early '80s, it only contains one Wyatt composition the opening track Born Again Cretin. The rest of the songs are cover versions, a selection of musically and thematically disparate songs by a very varied collection of original artists, including Ivor Cutler, 1940s protest songs, Billie Holiday, The Red Flag, and Spanish-language. Bitchez complain about Discogs prices because they're too lazy to find gems like this. The Dirty Underground is one of my favorite Moby productions and this record is cheap af.
The Dirty Underground is still one of the weirdest tracks Moby's ever produced. 10 minutes of very monotonous throbbing with bizarre dubby effects until finally his familiar Yamaha strings fade in at the end. Basically this was from that mid '90s period where Moby became sick of the club scene (leading to his increase in production of more ambient and downtempo works, as well as his return to rock music), so he decided to make a pisstake of how boring and repetitive he thought techno had become. Probably pissed off or confused a lot of people at the time, but I personally think it's awesome and one of his best tracks. Why Can't It Stop? offers similar commentary with its title, but the song itself is a more straightforward anthemic club track, with sampled soul vocals typical of a lot of Moby's 90s techno/house tracks. It's awesome, of course, but you would've been more likely to hear it at an actual club than its bugged-out B-side.
