Welcome to Sky Valley Q&A. Welcome to Sky Valley is the third studio album by American stoner rockmetal band Kyuss, originally released on June 28, 1994. Kyuss was recorded in early 1993 and scheduled for release in January 1994. Due to mild success from their previous album, Kyuss had been promoted from their subsidiary record label Dali to the main label Chameleon. Welcome to Sky Valley' was released in 1994, a time when grunge and at the other end industrial metal was at an all time high. Co-founding member Nick Olivieri had just left the band remind you of anything from 10 years later, and there were severe doubts about the future of Kyuss. So, in return, Kyuss shut everyone up by releasing an absolutely flawless record. After creating a classic with their second album, Blues for the Red Sun, desert metal gods Kyuss faced the unenviable task of delivering the goods once again for a new label, Elektra Records. And they almost pulled it off with 1994's stellar Welcome to Sky Valley. The album's 13 songs are divided into three suites which fully display the band's impressive creative range, from furious metal to psychedelic grooves, and anything in between.
