Info

Some Time in New York City is a part-studio, part-live double album by John Lennon & Yoko Ono, with the American rock band Elephant's Memory & Invisible Strings. Released in June 1972 in the US and in September 1972 in the UK on Apple Records, it is Lennon's third post-Beatles solo album. Like Lennon's previous solo albums, it was co-produced by Lennon, Ono and Phil Spector. The album's lyrics are very politically charged compared to its predecessors, discussing political and social issues and topics. But here Lennon and Yoko, accompanied by New York's Elephant's Memory, sing and scream freely against sexism in Woman Is the Nigger Of The World and Sisters, O Sisters. They protest incarceration in John Sinclair, Attica State, and Born In A Prison, colonialism in Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Luck Of The Irish, and racism in Angela. The richness of Phil Spector's production fills out the danceable grooves on nearly every track. Vocals Yoko Ono. Vocals, Guitar John Lennon. Vocals, Percussion Bonnie Bramlett tracks: 2-1, 2-2. 2xLP originally released on Apple in 1972 as PCSP 716. Штрих-код и другие идентификаторы. Barcode: 0 7777-93850-2 7. However, when he released Some Time in New York he ripped Frank Zappa off. Much of this is from a performance done with Zappa's band the mothers of invention. Zappa made Lennon a copy of the show so they each would have one. Though many will say the album was not John or Yoko's best, it was a very important album at the time and was widely underrated. Songs like John's New York City or the JohnYoko songs Sunday Bloody Sunday, and Attica State feature John at his most rockin'. Yoko's contributions to the album are not of her best, but are still fitting with the context of the album. Au Lyrics. About Some Time in New York City. Often labeled as one of, if not the, worst of Lennons solo albums, this was John and Yokos last collaboration with producer Phil Spector. With one disc of studio material and one of live recordings from the Fillmore East, Lennons third album has been criticized for its less than subtle political messages. Some Time in New York City Q&A. Artist Yoko Ono. Primary Artists John Lennon & Yoko Ono. John Lennon, 1975. Some Time In New York City peaked at number 48 in the US. Despite numerous imported copies having been sold, it reached number 11 in the UK charts. Sales of the album were additionally affected by its high price. Although the Live Jam disc was intended as a free bonus album, it was given a separate catalogue number which pushed up the price of the package.
