A minor gem of free improvisation Light's View presents saxophonist Butcher in tandem with pianist Georg Graewe. Unlike much of the music in the free genre, this duo generally eschews high energy bombastic to focus on sensitive interaction. Butcher is never less than brilliant, demonstrating a wealth of possibilities. Lights View is free-jazz pianist Georg Graewe and saxophone virtuoso John Butcher collaborating on a series of improvised pieces. The results prove to be fascinating and altogether enduring. On Second Curiosity we find Butcher supplying tremolo and quaint melodic undercurrents, which nicely contrasts Graewes, inquisitive style phrasing through brief chord progressions and quick, darting right hand leads. Georg John 23 July 1879 18 November 1941 was a German stage and film actor. Georg John was born Georg Jacobsohn into a Jewish household in Schmiegel, Province of Posen, Imperial Germany. John began his career around 1900 in smaller stages and traveling theatres. In 1904, he was engaged at the Theater of Wilhelmshaven, followed by appearances at Stolp in 1905, Altona, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Bochum and Göttingen.
