FALSE IMPRESSION. Why was an elegant lady BRUTALLY MURDERED the night before 911 Why was a successful New York banker not surprised to receive A WOMAN'S LEFT EAR in the mail. False Impression is a fun romp that reads like a movie, so it won't surprise me if the screenplay and a movie on the small or big screen follows. It's just enough fun that I would watch it, even though I know what happens. I was a Jeffrey Archer fan in my youth, so it was nice to revisit for a holiday read by the pool. It did not disappoint but on the other hand it was not exceptional and followed the good guys vs bad guys format with the good guys winning at the end. False Impression Audio, Cassette Audiobook, 24 Feb 2006. by Jeffrey Archer Author, Anton Lesser Reader. 0 out of 5 starsFast read. Very exciting. 12 September 2019 - Published on . False Impression is written by Jeffrey Archer. It uses the 911 tragedy to capture the readers interest, but it is mainly about conspiracies in the art world or, if you want it in simpler terms, its a murder mystery. I used to read Jeffrey Archer quite a bit. The first book of his I remember really enjoying was As The Crow Flies, a monumental family saga with plenty of legal and personal machinations. What I remember about Archer's books is that he's really good at writing characters you just hate and thus heroes whom you really want to win. False Impression is a mystery novel by English author Jeffrey Archer, first published in February 2005 by Macmillan . ISBN 1405032553. The novel was published in several countries. False Impression concerns an international journey through several countries and continents, including London, New York, Bucharest and Tokyo, and includes historical information about the September 11 attacks on New York, which the protagonist, Anna Petrescu, escapes after being fired by the dishonest banker Bryce Fenston. Book Information. False Impression. Written by Jeffrey Archer. Narrated by Anton Lesser. This review pertains to the abridged audio book version of False Impression. Perhaps would have been better to read in its original version, so I've given the book two stars in benefit of doubt. I didn't find this book to be either suspenseful or thrilling, and a thriller should be both. It was populated by single-dimension characters who act in predictable generic ways. Spoiler: the denouement is marked by noticing the earring that the villain is wearing in a photograph taken while shaking hands with President George W. Bush at Ground Zero. Jeffrey Archer, one of the greatest popular novelists of our generation, delivers a truly page-turning thriller in False Impression. When an aristocratic old lady is brutally murdered in her country home the night before 911, it takes all the resources of the FBI and Interpol to work out the connection between her and the possible motive for her death a priceless Van Gogh painting. Anna Petrescu is missing, presumed dead, after 911 and she uses her new status to escape from America, only to be pursued across the world from Toronto to London, to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bucharest, but it is only when she returns to New York that the mystery unfolds. Includes excerpt from: Cat o' nine tales p. It's September 10, 2001, and Lady Victoria Wentworth is sitting in spacious Wentworth Hall considering the sad state of family fortunes when a female intruder slips in, slashes her throat and cuts off her ear. The next day in New York, art expert Anna Petrescu heads to her job as art wrangler for wealthy magnate Bryce Fenston of Fenston Finance. The pair's offices are in the Twin towers, and when disaster strikes, each sees the tragedy as an opportunity to manipulate a transaction scheduled to transfer ownership of a legen. I tried to get an unabridged version as I prefer them but couldnt on audible and that could have contributed to why I didnt enjoy it. I found the story hurried and not really filled out but more than that I found it boring . Jeffrey Archer.
