1,039Smoothed Out Slappy Hours is a collection of early recordings by American rock band Green Day, released on October 1, 1991 by Lookout Records. Often erroneously referred to as the band's debut album, the compilation combines the band's actual debut 39Smooth and its first two extended plays Slappy and 1,000 Hours, which are all currently out of print, hence its name being an amalgamation of the album and the two EP's. Very impressed, to this day, with how good these guys sounded as a band at such a tender age. Love Green Day, have since I was a kid in my 30s now and they are still in my top 5 favorites. Am a huge fan of this CD because the raw sound reminds me of the Saturday night garage punk shows I used to frequent in high school and into college.
