The new line-up of the band delivered the Octopus album later in 1972, generally considered to represent the start of the band's peak period. We started with the idea of writing a song about each member of the band. Having a concept in mind was a good starting point for writing. Octopus is the fourth studio album by British progressive rock band Gentle Giant, released in 1972. It is their best selling album to date. Octopus is a music studio album recording by GENTLE GIANT Eclectic ProgProgressive Rock released in 1972 on cd, lp, vinyl andor cassette. Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music57. Gentle Giant - Octopus review: Among the most accessible early Gentle Giant albums, this album's also one of their finest. Octopus clocks in at 34:24, and it certainly feels that short. If there were maybe a few more songs, the album would certainly feel more complete, and not as much like a long EP. Also, some songs, like the aforementioned Dog's Life feel a bit tacked on to just make the album longer. Either way, Octopus remains one of the finest early Gentle Giant albums, if a little short by other prog albums' standards. The songs are more concise and focused, and that certainly doesn't take away from the quality of the music within. Returning to Gentle Giant's fourth album after any kind of lengthy absence, it's astonishing just how little Octopus has dated. Octopus, however, marries the two seamlessly, with the cover speaking for itself, of course. 1 Production

Nothing personal
Seriously the CD Remix sucks compared to the Repertoire Records ‎– REP 5095
(CD, Album, Reissue, Digipak 2007). I have not tested the 5.1 Mix though.
If you dont have 5.1. get the Repertoire Version !
