Eric Dolphy. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Recorded live at the Five Spot with pianist Mal Waldron, bassist Richard Davis, and drummer Ed Blackwell, this CD reissue consists of two fairly lengthy renditions of Eric Dolphy compositions: Number Eight and Booker's Waltz. Since there is only around a half-hour of music on the set, it is unfortunate that the advanced performances which are also available as part of Eric Dolphy's nine-CD box set were not combined with one of the two previous volumes. Track Listing. At the Five Spot volumes one and two is a pair of jazz albums documenting one night 16 July 1961 from the end of Eric Dolphy and Booker Little's two-week residency at the Five Spot in New York. This was the only night to be recorded the engineer was Rudy Van Gelder. A third volume from this session was released, titled Memorial Album, containing Number Eight Potsa Lotsa and Booker's Waltz. These two tracks were later released on the Rudy Van Gelder remaster of Volume 2. I don't own the rights to this Album. All the rights belong to the composer of the song. Thanks to snobb for the addition. Eric Dolphy & Booker Little 1964 Memorial Album Recorded Live At The Five Spot. Number Eight 16:00 02. Booker's Waltz 14:15. This is essentially Eric Dolphy at the Five Spot Volume Three, sadly released after the untimely deaths of both Dolphy and the young and dazzling trumpeter Booker Little. Clearly these are the lesser performances from the set. They still pack some pop. Eric Dolphy Booker Little Format: Audio CD. Memorial Album. Mid-summer 1961, the evening of July 16th, at the old Five Spot in New York City. The quintet of Eric Dolphy, playing bass clarinet and alto sax, Booker Little on trumpet, Mal Waldron on piano, Richard Davis on bass, and Eddie Blackwell on drums. Tragically, Dolphy, 33 years old at the time of these sessions, would die just three years later in Berlin, of a heart attack probably compounded by diabetes. Little had preceded him in death just three months after these sessions, of uremia. Jazz Vinyl. Personnel: Eric Dolphy as, b-cl, fl, Booker Little tp, Mal Waldron p, Richard Davis b, Ed Blackwell d.
