Info

Busted Stuff is the fifth studio album by Dave Matthews Band, released on July 16, 2002 by RCA Records. Produced by Stephen Harris, it was the band's second album not to feature longtime producer Steve Lillywhite. Nine of the album's eleven tracks are re-recorded versions of songs that first appeared on an album the band had abandoned in 2000, a project that had come to be known as The Lillywhite Sessions Where Are You Going-the first single from Busted Stuff-and You Never Know were not from The. The Dave Matthews Band may not have released the Lillywhite Sessions - the semi-legendary soul-searching album recorded in 2000 but abandoned in favor of the heavy-handed, laborious Glen Ballard-produced Everyday - but they couldn't escape its shadow. Every review, every article surrounding the release of Everyday mentioned it, often claiming it was better than the released project - an opinion the band seemed to support by playing many numbers from the widely bootlegged lost album on tour in 2001. Busted Stuff, a polished commercial spin on music widely considered the darkest, most revealing work Matthews has yet created. Now Matthews returns with Busted Stuff, which resurrects nine of the dozen tunes from the Lillywhite sessions and tries to find a middle ground between the darker folk introspection of the aborted album and the pop pithiness of Everyday. The new versions of the leftover songs sharpen the melodies and shorten the arrangements: The sax riff on Raven now swaggers, and the concert staple Bartender is trimmed by nearly two minutes. At its best, Busted Stuff suggests that Everyday was a controversial but necessary detour. Songs in album Dave Matthews Band - Busted Stuff 2002. Dave Matthews Band - Busted Stuff.
