Jazzland Recordings, Jazzland Recordings. 4: Christian Bugge Wesseltoft born 1 February 1964 is a Norwegian jazz musician, pianist, composer and producer, son of the jazz guitarist Erik Wesseltoft. Wesseltoft was born in Porsgrunn. After high school in Skien, where he was involved in the school brass band and dance orchestras, he became a professional musician in 1983 only 19 years old. By the age of 16, he joined a punk rock band, but the influence of the jazz guitarist father, stalked on him. After moving to his father in Oslo 1984. New Conception Of Jazz is a music studio album recording by BUGGE WESSELTOFT Jazz RockFusionProgressive Rock released in 1996 on cd, lp, vinyl andor cassette. Very interesting album in musicological sense: Bugge started his career as jazz pianist, played with Jan Garbarek and some more Norwegians, associated with ECM Records label, but than founded his own record label and became one of founders of . Norway in late 90-s bring to the European scene few jazz musicians searching for fresh ideas in jazz. Wesseltoft is as much producer and soundscape artist as composer and star of this double CD, and he's shipped in intensely catchy elements from hip-hop, rap, house and acid jazz by the bucketload, sampled his way past artistic oblivion and made it back intact and funky. If you like your music pure, this may not be for you, but if you're convinced by the mongrels are smarter and healthier than pure-breeds argument, this is some argument to lean back on.
