This is a remarkable recording, especially considering it was made in 1935. The sound is in-your-face, as though you were sitting right in front of the organ. Apparently Schweitzer used new miking techniques that he himself developed based upon his deep knowledge of the instrument (he was also an authority on organ construction). This is one of the most organic and exciting recordings of the organ I've ever heard.
